In addition to being able to win a Bronze, Silver, or Gold medal, students are eligible to win many different sponsored awards. Here are some of the awards that have been confirmed for the 2019 fair.

 

Al-Hijra Academy Earth Sciences Award
A medallion and $50 cash prize will be awarded to the best Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects, that demonstrate excellence in earth sciences. Sponsored by Al-Hijra Academy.

Al-Hijra Academy Environmental Sciences Award
A medallion and $50 cash prize will be awarded to the best Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects, that demonstrate excellence in environmental conservation, preservation or regeneration. Special consideration will be given to projects relating to natural bodies of water or water systems. Sponsored by Al-Hijra Academy.

Al-Hijra Academy Health Sciences Award
A medallion and $50 cash prize will be awarded to the best Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects, that demonstrate excellence in health sciences. Sponsored by Al-Hijra Academy.

Al-Hijra Academy Physical and Chemical Sciences Award
A medallion and $50 cash prize will be awarded to the best Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects, that demonstrate excellence in physical and chemical sciences. Sponsored by Al-Hijra Academy.

An-Noor Innovation Award
An-Noor Private School will sponsor and present a $100.00 prize and a gold medal to the top Engineering projects in the novice, junior, intermediate, and senior divisions. This award acknowledges exceptional innovative projects applying principles of engineering and technology, expressed with resourceful enthusiasm. The hope is that projects such as these will enhance the quality of life for all humanity. Sponsored by An-Noor Islamic Private School.

An-Noor School Health Sciences Award
A $100.00 prize and a gold medal are sponsored by An-Noor Private School and presented to the top projects in the novice, junior, intermediate, and senior divisions. This award acknowledges projects with the outstanding scientific quality designed to highlight the dynamic aspects of health and the human body. Projects should be presented with motivation and be artistically displayed. The hope is that projects such as these will enhance the quality of life for all humanity. Sponsored by An-Noor Islamic Private School.

ASCIS Elementary Student Council Oral Communication Award
This award of $50 is presented to one student in each age category - novice, junior, intermediate and senior, who showed excellence in their oral presentation. This award is sponsored by the ASCIS Elementary Student Council. Sponsored by Academie Ste. Cecile International School.

ASICS Top Backboard Award
This award acknowledges excellence in backboards to convey project information in the novice division. Each winner will receive $20. Sponsored by Academie Ste. Cecile International School.

Avinus Creative Thinking Award
This award will recognize the efforts in a computer science project in any division. Winner will receive a gift card. Sponsored by Avinus.

Bourse du Club Richelieu pour la meilleure communication orale en français
Pour les élèves qui ont démontré une communication orale supérieure lors de la présentation de leur projet, ils recevront un livre pour la catégorie novice/junior et un microscope pour la catégorie intermédiaire/senior. Les prix seront à partager si c'est un group de deux. Sponsored by Club Richelieu Windsor.

Construction and Technology Award
The best overall project in engineering and technology will be awarded a plaque and $100 award. Partners must split the prize. Sponsored by Intrepid General Limited.

Energy Conservation Award
Medals and a prize will be presented to the best Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects related to conservation of energy. Sponsored by the Windsor Chapter of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers, (ASHRAE) Sponsored by ASHRAE.

Engineering Award
A plaque and $100 prize will be presented to the best Junior, Intermediate and Senior Project related to Engineering and/or applied science. Partners must split the prize. Sponsored by Professional Engineers Ontario - Windsor Essex.

Essex Region Conservation Authority Award
Projects related to either the conservation of soil, wildlife, forests, or flood and erosion protection in all divisions will be considered. A family conservation season pass will be presented to the winning projects. Sponsored by Essex Region Conservation Authority.

FACCA Technology Award
This project should be related to engineering technology, tool and mold making and/or applied sciences. A medal and $50 prize will be presented to the best projects in Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior divisions. Sponsored by Facca Incorporated.

Greater Essex County District School Board Prize
This prize will contribute $2,000 towards the travel expenses and cost of sending one of the top science fair project winners to the Canada Wide Science Fair this May. All categories will be considered. Sponsored by Greater Essex County District School Board.

Mad Science - Why my teacher is great!
All students (Grades 4 to 6) at WRSTEF will receive a complimentary Mad Science presentation while at the fair. In addition, Mad Science will sponsor a draw for 8 Mad Science t-shirts for those students who state Why my teacher is great! Sponsored by Mad Science.

NSERC Young Innovators grant
This grant will be put towards the expenses of sending a participant to CWSF in New Brunswick May 2019. Sponsored by NSERC. Sponsored by NSERC.

Promising Young Engineer Award
This $100 bursary and medal acknowledges outstanding early experimental achievements by a student. The exhibitor's work shows great potential for future application or continuation of their experiment. $50 will be given to the exhibitor and $50 to their teacher/advisor who must use the bursary in the promotion of future Science Fair student participation. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Faculty of Engineering.

Promotion of Science - Top Female Engineering
The top female engineering project in any division will receive $200. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation.

Promotion of Science - Top Life Science Project
This prize is for the the top life science project of the fair in any division. The winner will receive $200. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation.

Promotion of Science Award
All of the Promotion of Science Awards celebrate both science and engineering achievements. It recognizes extraordinary achievement in the disciplines of life sciences, physical and mathematical sciences, and engineering. In addition, $200 will be given to the top performing high school for the purchase of scientific equipment. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation.

Promotion of Science Award - Top Computer Sciences-Math
The University of Windsor - Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation would like to recognize the top Computer Sciences and Math project of the fair in any division. The winner will receive $200. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation.

Promotion of Science Award - Top Physical-Chem Sciences
The University of Windsor - Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation would like to recognize the top Physical and Chemical Sciences project of the fair in any division. The winner will receive $200. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation.

Science City Membership Draw
This award consists of a 1 year membership draw to Windsor's Science Centre, the Canada South Science City located at 749 Felix Avenue. This membership also includes free entry to affiliated science centres in Ontario including Toronto, Sudbury, and many others. Winners will be determined by draw with two memberships selected from students who enter a draw. Sponsored by Canada South Science City.

Science Rendez-Vous Showcase Award
Three outstanding projects will be selected to be showcased at Science Rendez-vous in May at the University of Windsor. Sponsored by Science Rendez-Vous.

St-Clair College CWSF Grand Prize
This prize will contribute towards the travel expenses and cost of sending one of the top science fair project winners to Canada Wide Science Fair in May to New Brunswick. All categories will be considered. Sponsored by St-Clair College.

Stantec Consulting Award
Projects shall be related to application of engineering principles or research for improving the quality of our environment and/or infrastructure. A plaque and $100 prizes will be awarded to the best Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects. Sponsored by Stantec.

Ted Rogers Innovation Award
The Ted Rogers Innovation Awards, sponsored by Rogers Communications Inc., are offered through regional science fairs across Canada, challenging youth to show their entrepreneurial spirit by developing a project that demonstrates commercial potential. Sponsored by Rogers Communications Inc..

Top Participating Elementary School
This award celebrates the involvement and encouragement provided by the teacher and school in supporting student participation and encouraging excellence in grades 4 to 6. The top five participating elementary schools will be entered in a draw to receive a Mad Science presentation for their school. A minimum of 250 student population applies for each school attending the fair. The teacher contact will choose the date of the school presentation by contacting Mad Science of Windsor. Sponsored by Mad Science.

University of Windsor - Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences Prize
This award acknowledges the best project related to Earth or environmental sciences in the intermediate and senior categories. The prize is $100. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences.

University of Windsor - Faculty of Education Excellence Award
This $500 award bursary celebrates the involvement and encouragement provided by the teacher and school in supporting student participation and encouraging excellence. It is given to the school that receives the most medals (bronze 1 pt, silver 5 pts, gold 8 pts.) and is based on a ratio between school population and medal standings. A minimum 250 student population applies for each school attending the Fair. A school may win the award only once in a three year period. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Faculty of Education.

University of Windsor - Faculty of Engineering CWSF Prize
This award will contribute $2,000 toward the cost of sending a finalist the Canada-Wide Science Fair. Project must be in the Engineering Category. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Faculty of Engineering.

University of Windsor - Faculty of Science Prize
The University of Windsor Faculty of Science Prize, as judged by a panel of three professors from the Faculty of Science at the University of Windsor, will recognize the best overall science project. This prize will contribute $2,000 towards the travel expenses of the winning scientists so that they can attend the Canada Wide Science Fair. Projects in Life / Behavioural Sciences, Physical Sciences, Earth Sciences, Computer Science and Mathematics and Statistics will be considered for the award. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Faculty of Science.

University of Windsor Entrance Scholarship
The University of Windsor seeks to acknowledge the best Gold Medal Winning senior project from the WRSTEF. This scholarship will be applied to tuition fees when the student is registered in an undergraduate Science or Engineering program at the University of Windsor. In the case of a partner project each student would receive a $1000.00 admission scholarship. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Student Awards and Financial Aid.

University Of Windsor Faculty Of Nursing Health Sciences Award
This award seeks to acknowledge the best three Novice/Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects which demonstrate experimental research in the field of health. Medals and $50 bursary will be presented to the three best Novice/Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Faculty of Nursing.

University of Windsor Foundation Award
This award seeks to recognize the top Novice, Junior, Intermediate and Senior projects in the Engineering or Automotive Division which demonstrate uniqueness and innovation to design using engineering principles. Winners will receive a $50 gift certificate and medal. Sponsored by University of Windsor - Faculty of Engineering.

UofW Pre-Medical Society Award
A medal and cash prize will be awarded to the project that demonstrates the best solution to a healthcare problem or further innovates health technologies. Judging criteria will be based on practicality, creativity, and innovation. Sponsored by Windsor Pre-Medical Society.

uOttawa Entrance Scholarship
$1,000 entrance scholarship applied to tuition fees when the student registers in an undergraduate program at the faculties of Science or Engineering at the University of Ottawa. In the case of a two-student project, each student will receive a $500 admission scholarship if they register in appropriate undergraduate programs at the University of Ottawa. Sponsored by UOttawa.

Vision Therapy and Research Centre Award
A special prize sponsored by Dr. Mohamed Moussa will be presented to the top 10 achieving projects in the novice, intermediate, junior and senior divisions. This award recognizes projects with exceptional scientific significance constructed to enhance the understanding of the impact of vision as a leading capacity. Sponsored by Dr. Mohammed Moussa.

Windsor Islamic Association Awards of Excellence - Gold
In recognition of their achievements, all gold medal winners at the fair will receive a gift certificate. Sponsored by Windsor Islamic Association.

Windsor Islamic Association Awards of Merit
A unique and highly regarded award which serves to celebrate projects in any category or age group that demonstrate special effort and motivation. A gift certificate will be awarded to 30 enthusiastic students. Sponsored by Windsor Islamic Association.

Windsor-Essex Chapter of Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists Award
Deserving projects in engineering in the novice, junior, intermediate and senior divisions will receive a medal and a cash prize. Sponsored by Ontario Association of Certified Engineering Technicians and Technologists.

WSP Engineering and Environmental Award
Top deserving project in Engineering or Environmental sciences will receive a cash prize of 100$. Sponsored by WSP Canada Inc..
